Well the medication cards have been made and the study guide is reviewed.  Countless hours have been spent since the first lecture, and now the Pharmacology final is just around the corner.  What is left to do to ensure that the final is anxiety free.  First of all, who are you studying with?  If you have not found a study buddy, there is still time to find one, or join a study group.  Many groups meet after clinicals, or after theory and of course on weekends.  There is a certain amount of memorization required to be successful in this course.  Have you flashed your med cards till you think you will be flashing them in your sleep.  Sneak them into your bible, and during sunday sermon they will be close at hand.  God will forgive you, as a nurse you are ministering to those in crisis and profound illness.  After church, move the cards into your pocket, so that when you gather at a family gathering, they will be available and you will not feel that you are missing out.  Your family and friends are your best support and will be glad to see your dedication.  As the day passes, you can pull out those cards again while waiting line at the grocery store, or as you wait next to the washing machine at the laundry mat.  You can use every extra minute to prepare for that exam.

It is crutial as a nurse to have as large mental file filled with pharmacy facts that will keep you confident as you begin to pass medications for the first time and these stored files will decrease your anxiety as you take the state board of nursing.  But most important that huge file of pharmacology knowledge will be at your finger tips, for recall once you are licensed as a nurse and are working independently.  You will pronuncitate the generic drugs correctly only if you practice, practice, practice.

With a solid foundation in pharmacology, you will know what needs to monitored with each medication, and you will be alert for drug interactions and side-effects that might harm your patients.  Believe in your effort now as it will pay off later down the road.

When you start the pharmacology final, know within yourself that you are ready answer any guestion with confidence.  Your studying decreases anxiety at final time.   Remember studying Pharmacology does not end with this final, it continues in each and every course to follow, and daily in your nursing practice.
